Each year the Healthy Families Program facilitates a six week group series to support participants with economic or parenting skills. This year we chose to support parents economically by connecting them with local resources around job training and higher education opportunities. A total of 15 mothers and fathers attended the group series which focused on resume building, interviewing, benefits of certificates and degrees, financial aid, scholarship opportunities and application process for higher education. The series finished with a higher education and job training fair participants and communities members were connected with additional local resources to encourage their future endeavors.
