Dear Friends,

Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” As I think about the stories and photos in this month’s newsletter, I am reminded of the countless people in our community who are deeply involved in our work. So many people are working together to ensure that the children and families in our community are positioned for success at school, at work, and in life.

As you scroll through the stories that follow, you will see example after example of the kinds of collaboration it takes to truly affect positive change in our community. From those with the resources to fund our work, to those who choose to share their special talents, to those who work consistently to educate and inspire us to do more, we are reminded how fortunate we are to have such wonderful community partners!

As we continue to think about the future of our region, children, and families who live here, we must continue to be creative and collaborative in our support for one another.

I am grateful for the people who have already engaged in Square One’s work; and I look forward to working with others to continue to build a brighter future for all.

Sincerely,

Joan Kagan
