JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Title:    School-Age Child Care (SACC) SITE COORDINATOR

Qualifications:

 

1.  Have the personal qualities to work with school-age children under supervision of Director, and the ability to relate well to parents, staff and the community in which the children live; bi-lingual where appropriate.

 

2.            Must be at least 20 years of age and meet one of the following criteria:

 

     a).  Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education,Child Guidance, Human Services, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, Social Work, Sociology or

           Child Care and have six months half-time experience working with children, or

 

b).  Prefer an Associates Degree in any field of study listed in 102CMR 11.07 (3) (b) and have two years of at least half-time experience working with school-age children.

 

c). Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; and have one year of experience working with school-age children.

 

3.            Must successfully complete a CORI application and must meet required health standards, physical exam, proof of negative Mantoux test and proof of 2 MMR’s.

 

4.            Maintain OCCS requirements such as current physical, first aid, cpr and completion of required annual training.

 

Responsibilities:

 

 1.  Plans, develops and implements the daily program designed to meet the social, health, emotional, cognitive physical and recreational needs of children within the frame work of the stated agency policy.

 

 2.  Evaluates the program in reference to program/individual, social, recreational, educational and developmental needs.

 

 3.  Provides care and protection for all children in the Center.

 

 4.  Supervises and plans for the most efficient use of space and appropriate equipment.

 

 5. Keeps the designated spaces, equipment and supplies clean and in order.

 

 6.  Supervises and carries out all purchasing of supplies and equipment in consultation with other appropriate program personnel.

 

 7.  Supervises Group Leader, Assistant Group Leader and other auxiliary personnel.

 

 8.  Schedules and attends regular conferences with Assistants and other designated staff to plan and evaluate program.

 

 9.  Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers to help with program.

 

10.  Plans and implements program staff meetings in conjunction with program administrator.

 

 11.  Keeps abreast of latest literature in field of school-age child care programs.

 

12.  Attends conferences, workshops, seminars, visit other centers programs.

 

13.  Maintains positive relationships with other occupants sharing space with the program.

 

14.  Accesses community and program resources to supplement develop the SACC program.

 

15.   Maintains program records as required.

 

16.   Maintains a sound, positive working relationship with parents, staff and other adults within the Center.

 

17.  Communicates effectively with the Director or other designated personnel related to pertinent information with regard to families and children.

 

18.  Attends staff and parent meetings, as required.
